Hostel

Hostel is second home to mould the students as excellent professionals with good discipline and right attitude. The College has excellent residential facilities for the students admitted to the various courses. There are two hostels in the campus. St. Thomas Hostel for Boys and Assisi Hostel for Girls. Every effort has been made to provide the best facilities for students who live on campus. Every student has access to a wide range of activities, facilities and support. The hostels possess all kinds of amenities for making the living of the boarders comfortable and enjoyable. Hostels have a common room with LED television & cable connection for recreation facilities. The students are personally responsible for upkeep of the articles issued to them by the warden in sound condition. The hostels have separate well equipped Mess, Kitchen and Dining Hall. Local/national newspapers are also subscribed with a view to bring the overall development of personality of the boarders into play. There is a strict set of hostel rules regarding general discipline, study time, mess time etc. and all are expected to follow the rules. Ragging in any form is strictly prohibited by law (Kerala prohibition of Ragging Act 1998 section 3) which makes ragging Punishable

Hostel facilities are provided separately for boys and girls. Girls’ hostel is run by reverend sisters.

ST. THOMAS BOYS HOSTEL

St. Thomas Hostel can accommodate 210 inmates. Hostel administration is managed by a Priest, who is the Chief Warden and a team of Wardens drawn from the faculty. Hostel Executive Committee takes decisions on routine matters. The hostel is set-up in a three storeyed building that is aesthetically laid out with plenty of open space and a lush green lawn in its midst. The rooms are well ventilated and airy and installed with fans, tube lights and comfortable furniture. Biometric system has been introduced to monitor the attendance and presence of students in the hostel. Hostel has full-fledged supporting staff , security staff and other workers. A chapel is provided, so that catholic students can attend the daily Holy Mass, and prayer meetings. During study time hostel inmates are expected to observe complete silence, they can make personal studies in their own rooms and combined studies in the study hall. The mess operates on ‘no profit – no loss’ basis and caters to the taste of students from different regions. There are mess representatives nominated from the students and a mess supervisor to supervise the smooth running of the mess. Mess is equipped with excellent furniture, entertainment system and purified water. Mess is provided with steam cooking facility and gas burners. Steaming is one of the best cooking methods for maximizing taste and colour, while retaining most nutrients in vegetables and rice.
